System Requirements Check

Prior to your exam, it is important to make sure that your device meets Examity’s online proctoring requirements. 

To verify your system requirements, you will first need to confirm which version of the Examity platform you are using. Please take a look at the images below and identify the one that matches your instance of Examity. You can then see a list of necessary requirements, along with the option to perform a system check.

Examity Classic

Classic Requirements

  • Operating System: macOS X 10.5 or higher, Windows Vista or higher. Examity does not support Linux or Chrome OS 
  • Browser: Google Chrome or Firefox – please disable your pop-up blocker.  
  • Hardware: Desktop or laptop (tablets, Chromebooks, and mobile are not supported)
    – Built-in or external webcam
    – Built-in or external microphone
    – Built-in or external speakers
  • Internet: A required upload and download speed of 2Mbps, with 10Mbps preferred.  Hot spots are not recommended.

New Platform Requirements

  • Operating System: OS X El Capitan 10.11 or later, Windows 10 (Windows machines in 10 S mode are not supported), Chromebook Users* ChromeOS (Current Stable)
  • Internet Browser: Google Chrome (Current Stable and First Preceding Version)
  • Web Camera: Minimum- 640×480 resolution, Recommended- 1280×720 resolution
  • Internet Download Speed: A required upload and download speed of 2Mbps, with 10Mbps preferred
  • RAM: Minimum – 2GB, Recommended- 4GB
  • A Functioning Microphone: Webcams with built in microphones and stand alone microphones supported

Not Supported:
Tablets (iPad, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Note, etc.)
Mobile (Android, iOS)
ARM CPU Architecture

*Examity offers limited support for our Live and Auto Proctoring solutions on Chromebooks. High security exams may restrict the use of Chromebooks.
